Abstraction
To abstraction in photography is when you use a object or a photograph and to make it different to the original by using some of the formal elements such as light, shapes or editing sites such as Photoshop and phone apps. Abstraction also can change the shape of the original object or add to it by using the shadows to alter or change the way we see the image.

We had to make a 3D model using white paper, colourted card and film. We were asked to photograph the sculpture from many different angles and views. We were also asked to get only the sculpture in the image and photograph the object close-up and we created images using the shadows. I feel that some of my images have come out how I wanted it but there have been some not as good such as the ones where you can see the background. I would prefer it if I can just see the sculpture. This has taught me to experiment more with close-ups and looking carefully.I feel that this experiment worked well because there are many shadows but not all at the same angle which can make the image or sculpture look a little different.

I wanted to experiment with abstraction and so chose to make this photograph. I used a sculpture from a coffee table in my living room and I also painted some rocks from my room specifically blue and red because as the sculpture looks like elephants crossing a bridge and with the background. I wanted to set up the image and I wanted the sculpture to look abstract by having just the sculpture within the image. I don't think that I was successful because can see the background. I need to go in even closer, but It felt odd to take images in this way. Next time I'd like to experiment further by creating this set up agian but going even closer.

William Eggleston
is a american photographer who uses expressive colour as the theme to some of his photography.
i chose William Eggleston because i felt that his images has a good colour scheme in them and he can turn just plain images into colourful ones without doing a lot for example in image 12 we wouldn't pay any attention to it we would just think its a pool with someone in it and lounging chairs around it but if you really think about it,it's more then that. The reason why i think that is because there are many different shadows and shades as well as different colours (Blue in the water, black bathing suit, orange pots cream chair) many different colours thats why his images drew to me most.

I chose this image to write about because i felt that it was bold and it drew to me the most the reason for that is because i liked how the bold red looks against the dull black and white plaid shirt also the white background makes the red stand out more,I knew this image was abstract because of the scrunched up paper infront of the mans heads gives it a unique spin to the image and instead of having just little random areas covered the photographer thought it would be better to have a bigger surface of the image covered and i agree that to look better Who is the artist

The task we was given was to use 1 plain piece of paper to make mini sculptures and take 16 completely different abstract images using the formal elements with only the paper in the frame.
I felt that the instructions made the task alittle more complicated because it was difficult to have nothing but the paper in the frame.
I found the task quit challenging at times because it was hard to have nothing in the background.
I did not take any risks while doing this task but i made different lines on the paper by folding/scrumpling.
How do your images look
what type of task did you enjoy most
I think that this task has given me more ideas for new projects because its being creative and making things

John Baldassari
John Baldassari was a american born artist who started his career by painting,This was important in his early work at the time of early 1960s.
John started to use text and pre-existing photogrpahs so he can create riddels that hightlighted some of the unspoken hypothesis of contemporary painting ,"I think when I'm doing art, I'm questioning how to do it."
The influence used to create his unusal peices of art was pop art and as shown above he likes to used bright bold primary colours and mianly circles but as we can see that is not always the case sometimes he will colour is some of the image with bright colours not neccaseraly primary.
I feel that his images are very unusal and different which i find very appealing to the eye mostly with the different colours but some people call him mainly a photographer but in my view i feel that he is more of a artist because he doesnt use ones that he may of taken but takes discarded images from bins that no one may of wanted and re uses them and makes them look more exciting by puting his twist or mark on the photograph.

My final peice
For my final peice I will be taking inspiration from a previous student which is a photogrpahy display using mountboard forming a box, and mounting the images onto it. I chose this way to present my final peice because I found it different and something ive personally never seen before. My inspiration for my photogrpahs will be from many different artists that we have researched for example hannah höch, john baldassari,Saul leiter
