We were asked to take a series of images during our summer holidays to show some of the journeys we have had during the holidays.
Below are few of the images i had taken of many journeys.

Mari Mahr
Mari Mahr is a Chilean born artist whose specialism is in surrealism. After her Hungarian Jewish parents fled their homeland in World War Two, they settled in Chile, returning to Hungry after the war in 1949. Whilst there Mahr worked as a photo journalist, but unfortunately lost her job due to her own personal political opinions. In 1973 Mahr moved to London in order to study photography at the University of Westminster. Here, she has advanced in her specialism and has become well know in her field.
I have chosen to research Mari Mahr because I like the way her work has a unique and different feel to it compared to other artists.
Mahr's extensive travel over the world, has produced many different images (editing her images to make them more appealing to those whose viewing it.) covering many different types of subject matter. As a result these images have resulted in over 60 solo exhibitions around the world.
The process by which Mahr creates a photographic piece, involves developing an image, but then she will place an object of some sort on top of the original image then re take the photo.
An example of this can be seen in the below picture. Mahr, using a film camera, has taken a scenery image, placed a face mask over the original photo and then has retaken the photo. This type of photographic editing really works because Mahr hasn't just used photoshop on a computer but she has used other things to compliment it and has engaged with the image.
